PRP is a form of regenerative medicine that uses a person's own blood to promote healing and relieve pain. The blood is drawn from the patient and then placed in a centrifuge to separate the platelets, which are rich in growth factors. The concentrated platelets are then injected back into the patient's body at the…
Where Can I Go for Immediate Care?
Waking up feeling terrible, getting into an accident or having a kid be sent home sick from school can all create the need for immediate care. Unfortunately, when it comes to doctors, it can be difficult to know whom to turn to in a pinch.
Many physicians build their practice around the idea that patients will plan appointments well in advance. This works for things like child well visits, sports physicals or even annual exams for adults. It does not work well when someone is sick and simply does not have the time to wait around for an appointment.
So, what does a person do when they need immediate medical help?
In this case, the best way to handle it is to call or stop by our office for immediate care. We understand that there is no way to know when sickness will strike or an accident will occur. That is why we do not require patients to make appointments in advance. Life is just too unpredictable. Instead, we are here when patients need us most, regardless of when.
Immediate care versus emergency care
There is a difference between the type of care we provide and what is done in the emergency room. Primarily, if someone is suffering from a life-threatening injury or has symptoms of a heart attack or stroke, it is best to visit the ER. Otherwise, we provide the same level of care that a patient can receive in the hospital.
Types of conditions treated in our office
Patient visit us for variety of reasons, including the following:
- High fever
- Flu symptoms
- Sore throat
- Ear ache or ear pain
- Sinus pressure
- Constant diarrhea
- Feeling depressed or lethargic
- Suffering a sprain
- Minor sports injuries
- Cuts and lacerations
- Skin problems
- Generally feeling unwell
Patients also visit us after car or workplace accidents
Being hurt in an accident is traumatic and in some cases, painful. It is important to visit the doctor right away, but which doctor? Ultimately, many patients simply have to go to the emergency room of the hospital because they have no idea of where to go or whom to turn to.
The problem is that the emergency room is often overcrowded, the waits can be long and the visit is expensive. If the injury is minor and not life-threatening, it makes a lot more sense to visit our office for immediate care. We can typically see patients right away or require only a minimal wait. We can diagnose injuries, recommend treatment and refer to specialists as needed. In that way, patients receive the same type of care here that they do in the emergency room, just for a lesser cost and with a shorter wait time.
We do not require patients to have a previous history with our office
Another benefit to visiting us is that we do not require patients to schedule a first patient appointment, as is common with most primary care physicians. This means people can visit us and immediately discuss their symptoms, get to the root of their health problems and do so in the same day. Truly, this is the best solution for anyone who needs help immediately.
Do not wait around: Get the help you need
Anyone who needs to receive immediate care and does not want to wait should visit us right away.
